How I Made My Dorm Room Feel Like Home

1. A Tapestry

A colorful tapestry can brighten up any dorm room wall. I purchased a tapestry that reminded me of home, but there are tapestries for any theme or interest. I purchased mine on Amazon for only $11.90. You can find it here.

2. Photos and Cards

I found it helpful to have photos of family and friends from back home displayed on my walls. I printed out photos in a square shape at my local drug store and then purchased a cork board to display the photos on. I used command strips to attach the corkboard to the wall and clear push pins to attach my photos to the corkboard.

I also added notes and cards that had been sent to me throughout the year to a seperate corkboard that I hung on the wall to my closet, which added another personal touch to the room.

3. A Comfy Chair

The chair provided by my college is not very comfortable. My roommate and I both bought comfortable chairs within the first month of arriving at school because we needed a location to relax in our room other than our bed.

The chair I purchased from Target is no longer available on their website, but I attached the original picture of it above.

You can make the chair look even homier by adding a throw pillow and a blanket!

4. Succulents

A succulent in my dorm room added some green and it was easy to take care of!
